Nikki, Our Administrative Assistant at Meg & Co, Loves Sunsets & the Ocean
When she’s not holding down the fort at Meg & Co., Nikki’s most likely outside with her husband and four boys, kayaking, hiking, or chasing waterfalls. She’s also recently become a grandmother, and spending time with her four-month-old grand baby is quickly becoming her favorite weekend activity.
Nikki’s approach to life? Forge your own path, learn as you go, and never forget to make time for what brings you joy. For her, that means getting to the ocean as often as possible. “I tell my husband it’s a requirement for me to visit the ocean at least every six months,” she says with a smile. Next up: Kauai.
Spend a little time with Nikki, and you’ll quickly learn she finds beauty in the everyday—especially when it comes to sunsets. “I’m obsessed,” she admits. “We take so many pictures of them.” On a recent trip to the Oregon coast, she made her family stop at the beach every evening just to catch the sunset. “I’m always dragging my boys out to watch!”
She’s also a self-proclaimed night owl, finding her most productive hours between 9 PM and midnight. “I’ve always wanted to be a morning person, but my clock only has one 5 on it—and it’s 5 PM!”
Mexican Food and Antiques
When it comes to comfort food, Nikki’s rule is simple: if she didn’t have to cook it, it tastes even better—especially if it’s Mexican food. And while she enjoys just about any movie (as long as there’s popcorn involved), her true love is historical fiction, which she can get lost in for hours.
A lifelong lover of antiques and all things vintage, Nikki grew up thrifting with her mom and watching her restore old furniture pieces into something beautiful. It’s a passion she’s carried into her own life—taking pride in giving forgotten pieces a new story in her home. Add a deep love for houseplants (so much so that it took three cars to move them all), and it’s safe to say her creativity shines far beyond the office.
Nikki’s Professional Journey
Nikki earned her degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with an emphasis in Interior Design from Utah State University, setting the stage early on for a career rooted in homes, design, and the way people live in their spaces.
Her first real job? Working at Anderson Lumber, a home improvement store similar to Home Depot. There, she joined the kitchen design department—and instantly fell in love with the world of construction and design. “I’ve been in the industry ever since—over 25 years now,” she says. (Bonus: it’s also where she met her husband!)
Nikki’s Path to Meg & Co
Nikki’s path to Meg & Co. started in an unexpected but serendipitous way. While house hunting during a move from Logan, Utah, to Twin Falls, Idaho, she came across a home she loved—with a sign out front bearing Meg’s name. “I had never heard of a female contractor before and was so impressed and intrigued,” she remembers.
Though they didn’t end up buying that home, Nikki couldn’t stop thinking about Meg’s work—and even dreamed of working for her someday. As fate would have it, she soon discovered that Meg was one of her neighbors. “I introduced myself right away,” Nikki says. Two years later, when she was ready to return to work, Meg invited her in for an interview. Dream come true!
Growing with the Meg & Co. Team
Since joining Meg & Co., Nikki’s career—and outlook—have expanded in ways she never expected. “I work with a great team—people who genuinely inspire me. It feels like a work family,” she says. Every day brings a new challenge: new systems, new processes and countless opportunities. “I’m constantly pushed to keep learning and growing, and I love that.”
What excites her most is seeing the entire creative process unfold—from Meg’s initial idea to the final creation taking shape.
One of Nikki’s most memorable professional milestones actually began at home: she and her husband have built two custom houses (with a contractor), giving her a front-row seat to every design decision. “I love brainstorming solutions, sketching ideas on paper, and then watching them come to life.”
Nikki, our Administrative Assistant at Meg & Co, thrives on creating smart systems that keep operations running smoothly. She has a natural talent for developing efficient processes, organizing complex information, and streamlining daily workflows. One of her standout skills is the ability to look at a 2D floor plan and immediately visualize how it will come to life in 3D. She also excels at building strong business relationships and collaborating with others to solve problems and bring big ideas to life. For Nikki, there’s nothing more rewarding than working towards a shared goal with a dedicated, inspired team.
Recently Nikki switched gears and her current role has become more focused on business and office management. When it comes to professional inspiration, she doesn’t hesitate: “Meg! I look up to her so much—she’s a total rockstar.”
Nikki, Our Administrative Assistant at Meg & Co, Is A Lifelong Learner
One thing you need to know about Nikki is that she’s a lifelong learner—always curious, always open to growth, and never afraid to embrace change. Whether it’s mastering a new skill, streamlining a process, or dreaming about finally picking up the guitar, Nikki brings heart, drive, and a genuine love for learning into everything she does.
Together with the rest of the Meg & Co. crew, Nikki is proof that the right team—and the right leader—can turn daily work into a continual journey of growth, creativity, and purpose. We’re incredibly lucky to have her on our team at Meg & Co. She’s not just the engine behind the scenes, she’s an essential part of what makes our work meaningful.
