A Founder’s Vision Built Through Experience

The Story Behind Meg & Co.

Meg & Co. was founded by Meghan Billings, whose path into the construction industry began in an unexpected way: by building her own home.

After studying engineering, Meghan spent several years raising her young children while continuing to pursue entrepreneurial side projects. When she and her husband decided to build their home in Twin Falls, she naturally stepped into the process, applying her engineering background to plan every detail of the house. Partway through construction, their builder unexpectedly left the project. With the home only at the foundation stage, Meghan made the decision to step in and keep the build moving forward. What followed was an intense learning experience, relying heavily on the knowledge and generosity of tradespeople she met along the way and working from her laptop while her young children played. 

Near the end of construction, Meghan underwent a major back surgery that required her to leave town during the final stage of her home. During her recovery, all she could think about was building. Encouraged by a deeply supportive husband and driven by her engineering background and passion for building, Meghan decided to pursue a professional career in custom home building.

To support open communication with our clients, we use Buildertrend, a project management platform that allows them to track their projects in real time. Weekly updates ensure that the client always understands where their home stands and what decisions are ahead. 

We also bring trade partners into the process early. This approach allows us to benefit from their expertise during the design phase while helping identify potential challenges long before construction starts. By combining early collaboration with detailed documentation, we create a building experience where clients feel informed and confident throughout the process.
