Construction isn’t just about making things look pretty, it’s about building something greater. For Meghan Billings, the founder of Meg & Co, construction is her passion and her mission. She has been driving and reshaping this industry for men and women, locally and nationally.

Meg’s inspiring story is about her success in high-end custom homebuilding and her relentless advocacy for professional women in building. From a personal challenge to a career-defining purpose, her impact on the field runs deep, and her dedication is an excellent reminder that women take blueprints and dreams to a higher level.

Meghan’s path is anything but conventional. Born and raised in Alaska and an active participant in building their family cabin while growing up, Meghan always had a great appreciation for well-designed homes, driving her success in high-end custom construction and land development.

Unexpected Career in Construction

Her career in construction got its start when she and her husband, Tyler, set out to build their dream home in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Unfortunately, her contracted builder abruptly stopped work due to illness. Meghan, armed with no prior experience, did what any industrious problem-solver would do––she stepped in herself. Plans, permits, and late nights soon turned frustration into passion. Through trial, error, and unrelenting determination, Meg found empowerment within the construction process and discovered her true calling.

Moreover, with her newfound love for building, she didn’t stop. Add to this her stellar educational background and hands on experience in manufacturing engineering and her ability to “hold her own with a MIG welder”. Meghan truly parlayed her talents into what is now the incredibly successful Meg & Co.

Professional Women in Building: Reshaping the Industry

What sets Meghan apart isn’t just the homes she builds but the platform she’s created for other women to succeed in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Meghan works tirelessly to make her mark just through her business. In the same fashion, she shows up within the broader construction community, championing equity, education, and advocacy.
