Our design team at Meg & Co chose Atlas Homewares for this project for a number of reasons. Their range of styles, finishes, and sizes gave us the flexibility to honor the character of a 100-year-old building. It also allowed us to introduce modern, industrial touches. Their hardware has a refined simplicity that pairs beautifully with historic architecture and contemporary design.

If you take a closer look, you will notice how Atlas Homewares pieces elevate both the aesthetics and the functionality in every space. Polished nickel and matte black add contrast and sophistication to the painted greige cabinetry. Meanwhile, warm brass on the stained walnut reception desk brings depth and a quiet sense of luxury.

We’re also embracing one of our favorite trends: mixing metals, where hardware has evolved from a purely functional element into a defining design feature that serves as the jewelry of the space, that creates a curated and intentional finish. Atlas Homewares achieves this beautifully.

Now, let us take you through each space and show you our selections of hardware.

Break Room:

This break room has quickly become one of the most loved spaces in our new office. It’s a spot where our team makes their morning coffee, quick breaks between site visits, and those much-needed lunchtime resets. We wanted it to feel calm and intentionally designed, not just be a utilitarian corner. Premier Woodworking brought that vision to life with custom cabinetry painted in Sherwin-Williams Worldly Gray. The color adds a warm, grounded feel that makes the space inviting at any time of day.

At the center of the wet bar is a stone apron-front sink, a substantial, beautiful detail that anchors the entire wall. It brings a natural texture to the room and stands up perfectly to the everyday rhythm of rinsing dishes, prepping lunches, and filling water bottles.

For the cabinetry, we selected a mix of Atlas Homewares pieces that blend well with the room’s quiet elegance. The 8-13/16″ Lennox pulls in Polished Nickel and 1-1/4″ Successi Round Knobs in Polished Nickel add a subtle shine and just the right amount of sophistication. Their polished nickel finish plays beautifully against the soft gray cabinetry. Moreover, the deeper countertop tone gives the space a refined, cohesive look.

This small but hardworking area supports our team daily. Therefore, our goal was to prioritize thoughtful details through high-quality hardware, custom millwork, and durable materials. It is truly designed to be enjoyed.

Mezzanine Kitchenette:

To provide a break room space for the renters in our building, we designed a second hardworking space just downstairs, the mezzanine kitchenette. It is a favorite spot for anyone who wants a quiet corner to warm up lunch and make a cup of coffee.

Just like our company break room, this space features custom cabinetry by Premier Woodworking in Sherwin-Williams Worldly Gray, a tone we love for its calming warmth. Lighter cabinetry helps the kitchenette feel larger and more open.

One favorite feature of the kitchenette is another beautiful apron-front sink, this time paired with bold black fixtures that ground the entire design. The matte black hardware from Atlas Homewares perfectly reinforces that contrast: the 3-3/4″ and 5-1/16″ Bradbury pulls and 1-1/4″ Bradbury knobs, all in Matte Black, add a crisp, modern edge to the space.

We carried the black accents through the striking octagon floor tile and lighting. The floor brings classic, almost vintage charm and creates a cohesive rhythm throughout the kitchenette. This space may be compact, but it’s beautifully considered and practical.

Coffee bar:

Our beverage bar is the little luxury that we can use to welcome clients. Positioned closest to our conference room, it’s the first stop for a quick beverage when visitors come. Even though it’s a compact dry bar, it has a big presence thanks to its clean styling and thoughtful hardware selections.

We used 7-9/16″ Oskar pulls and 1-1/4″ Lennox knobs, both in Matte Black. As a result, the hardware adds just enough contrast, giving the bar a polished feel. Meanwhile, it allows the original exposed red brick wall to remain the room’s main architectural feature.

The combination of warm brick, streamlined cabinetry, and bold black hardware gives this small nook the exact personality it needs: inviting and functional.

Reception:

Last but not least, our reception area welcomes guests with craftsmanship and warmth. The custom-built reception desk, crafted in clear alder and finished with a rich, custom stain anchors the front of our office. It’s the first thing visitors see, and it sets the tone for the experience that follows.

To elevate the cabinetry, we chose 6-5/16″ Malin pulls in Warm Brass. The finish adds a soft, elegant glow against the alder, creating a beautiful contrast that feels both polished and approachable. These pulls bring just the right amount of sophistication without overpowering the organic character of the wood.

With its warm palette and thoughtful hardware, this reception space perfectly represents what we aim for at Meg & Co: welcoming, intentional, and beautifully made.
